Hello! My name is Xanthia, an integrative counsellor, relationship therapist, and Mindfulness Teacher. Emotional and mental well-being have always been a passion of mine, knowing from a young age that I wanted to work for the benefit of others. I have qualified as a counsellor and trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), relationship counselling, and mindfulness teaching. My motivation for all the training I've done was and is to help people achieve and maintain wellness; I have seen how the therapeutic space can help people transform themselves and develop through the challenges that life throws at them.

CBT is an intervention used to improve mental health; I was drawn to CBT after encountering how beneficial it can be for those suffering with anxiety and depression, and as a result I often involve elements of it within counselling sessions.

I trained with Relate as a couples therapist because I share their passion to help people maintain happy and functional relationships, whether this is for couples, individuals, or family members.

Mindfulness training helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we’re better able to manage them. I use mindfulness within counselling therapy (MBCT) and also provide teaching within an 8 week programme written by Mindfulness Now.

As an integrative counsellor I aspire to provide services that help people to; grow, transform their mind and become more self-aware. I don't believe in a one size fits all approach and therefore adapt which tools, theories and approaches I use depending on the individual/couple/group I am working with.

Cognitive and behavioural therapies (focusing on the way people think and behave)

Psychoanalytic therapies (looking at how past experiences affect the present)

Humanistic therapies (with a focus on self-development and growth)

Other therapies (such as mindfulness)
